Sept. 20, 2016 Update
Hello Music Lovers,
It’s hard to see another summer season get put in the history books. It happens every September but it never gets easier. I hope you are well and enjoying the last few warm days before Autumn rushes in. I was blessed to go out on Dale’s jet skis with my daughter this summer! That was a beautiful day of fun memories.
Apple & Britt played every Friday and Saturday night at Adolfo’s on the Ocean in the Beach Plaza for the fifth summer in a row, sometimes to enthusiastic listeners and sometimes to just a few relaxed souls who were soaking up the music and ocean views as long as they could. David and Kimberly Griffin, the owners of Adolfo’s, work very hard to make their customers. Apple & Britt endeavor to compliment their efforts by taking requests off our lengthy list, creating a blend of ballads, Latins, swing and easy rock beats. The Great American Songbook lives on each night we play. This weekend will be our last two night weekend (Fridays and Saturdays). But we will continue to play Fridays through the end of November—6 to 10pm. Please come out and see us ---and support the Griffins as they support us! Their website is www.OCADOLFOS.COM and their phone number for reservations and questions is 410-289-4001. Apple & Britt will be there for New Years Eve and for the weekend before Valentine’s Day 2017. Be sure to make your reservations early if you want to dine. But if you only want to listen to music or utilize the bar, there is no need for a reservation. You’ll be fine. The bar has a nice small plates menu, too, by the way. Also, look up Adolfo’s on the Ocean on Facebook. The ocean views are often featured there.
Apple & Britt are on Facebook. We try to post pictures of ourselves with fans, so don’t be shy about asking for one for your Facebook wall, too. Last winter I experimented with live streaming using the app called Meerkat. But now that Facebook has their own live streaming capability called Facebook Live, I have taken to using that instead. As long as we can connect to the Beach Plaza’s wi fi, Dale and I should be able to record the first couple songs of our gigs on Facebook Live. This is an effort to tantilize you until you can’t take it anymore and finally get yourself down to see us LIVE, IN THE FLESH. I will unashamedly taunt you until you acquiesce and make your plans to come, because I don’t like singing to an empty room. I need to see your handsome faces!
Apple & Britt have a couple extra gigs in October. We have a 50th class reunion on October 5 at Adolfo’s. And we are honored to provide music for the annual Furnace Town fundraiser, called Flames at the Furnace, on October 22. This is from their website:

Support Furnace Town and come out to enjoy a fun event and Southern BBQ dinner!

Funding for this event is in part provided by the Worcester County Arts Council, Maryland State Arts Council and the National Endowment for the Arts, organizations dedicated to cultivating a vibrant cultural community where the arts thrive.
Often guests ask us if we play anywhere else. We would like to but lately we don’t have any offers nor any gumption to go searching. If you have a hankering for some Apple & Britt in your hometown, then call Dale at 410-546-3027. We can come as a duo, or add other musicians depending on your needs or the venue.
Many thanks to our webmaster, Dennis Powers at UXB Internet, for maintaining our website!
Newsletter writing is complicated and requires a large chunk of time and focus, something I don’t have much of these days. So, please forgive my long absence. I am blessed to be working multiple jobs, serving in my church, maintaining good health and investing in my relationships with my family and friends. There are only so many hours in the week. Thank you for supporting us, for inviting your friends and family to support us, for liking our Facebook page posts, and for reading this newsletter.
Until we meet again, I wish you love.
